Located in downtown Fairhope, Rae’s Kitchen is a lunchtime eatery with take out, grab and go dinners, and catering. Previously a to-go only restaurant, Rae’s Kitchen now offers indoor seating as well as outdoor seating in the adjacent courtyard. All lunches are served with Zapp’s kettle cooked chips and Rae’s House Pickles.

The lunchtime menu features an array of sandwiches, melts, wraps, salads, soups, and a daily special. The “Old Faithful” portion of the menu consists of cold sandwich favorites like the chicken salad sandwich, turkey BLT with avocado, or the pimento cheese (which is recommended grilled by request).

The “warm and gooey” section reveals creative takes on traditional lunchtime sandwiches. For a spin on the club sandwich, give the Hey Mary a try with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, chipotle ranch, and swiss cheese, on a warm ciabatta. If you are looking for something really hearty, you can’t go wrong with the Meatloaf Sandwich. 

There are five wrap options on the menu including a southwest chicken, turkey cobb, spicy Heidi (turkey), spicy tuna, and a veggie wrap, which is our pick for those looking for a meatless option. There are four salads to choose from including Rae’s house salad, southwest chicken salad, cobb salad, and Caesar salad. The soup menu changes seasonally, but can be ordered on it’s own or in a combo.

Just as popular as the lunchtime fare, the cooler section at Rae’s Kitchen has casseroles and meals to-go in various sizes from small to extra large. Baked ziti, king ranch chicken, shrimp and crawfish pasta, chicken artichoke, and beef stroganoff are just a few of the daily offerings. Rae’s Kitchen also has a large catering menu with sandwiches and sliders, savory bites, meat and seafood, fruits, veggies, cheese, dips, and spreads. Service options include drop-off, delivery and setup, or full-service. 

Fairhoper’s Favorite – When visiting Rae’s for lunch, we are big fans of the Mallory Melt. This warm and gooey sandwich features turkey, bacon, avocado, brie, and jalapeno jelly grilled on an oat nut bread. It is so filling and satisfying. The house salad is also one of our go-to meals.

Rae’s Kitchen is located at 76 South Section Street in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. Street parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking on Section Street, De La Mare Avenue, Fairhope Avenue, South Bancroft Street, or South Church Street would be the shortest walk to Rae’s Kitchen.

A public parking garage is conveniently located on North Church Street behind the Hampton Inn. There is also a public parking lot just north of the Fairhoper’s Community Park on South Church Street, a small parking lot behind Julwin’s Restaurant on Bancroft Street, and another parking area just north of the Fairhope Public Library on Bancroft Street.
