The Fairhoper’s Community Park in downtown Fairhope is a popular gathering spot among families and visitors of all ages. Upon entering the park, guests are greeted by the friendly and enormous dinosaur statue that is a fun backdrop for pictures. With two sets of large and colorful playground equipment, small children and bigger kids both have an area to enjoy and explore.
Beat to your own drum on the colorful musical equipment or head over to the pirate-themed splash pad to cool off on a warm day. This fenced-in park has well established trees, covered wooden swings, and two pavilions, so there are plenty of shady spots to sit down and relax. There is room to run on the large grassy area that separates the playground from the splash pad and walkers will appreciate the sidewalk that wraps around the park.
Fairhoper’s Community Park is located at 105 South Church Street in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. There are two entrances to this Fairhope park. One entrance is on South Church Street and is the closest to the playground equipment. The other entrance is on Morphy Avenue and is closer to the splash pad and large pavilion.
Street parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking on South Church Street or Morphy Avenue would be the most convenient to the entrances of the park. Parking on Saint James Street, De La Mare Avenue, South Summit Street, South Section Street, or Fairhope Avenue is also within walking distance.
Another favorable place to park is the large public parking lot, just north of the main entrance of the park on Church Street. This parking lot has plenty of spaces, but it does fill up during peak times, specifically close to the lunch hour.
With access to both the playground equipment and splash pad, the Fairhoper’s Community Park is a popular choice in Fairhope for children’s birthday parties year round. The two pavilions are available on a first come first serve basis and cannot be reserved ahead of time.
