Knowing how to get around can make a visit to a new city that much easier. There are many parking and transportation options available if you know where to look. Downtown Fairhope can easily be explored on foot, but a car can be useful depending where you are lodging and which attractions you would like to see.
Connecting sidewalks and bike lanes have been added throughout Fairhope to support locals and visitors who prefer to walk and cycle. For biking enthusiasts, consider riding the Eastern Shore Trail, a 22-mile multi-surfaced trail for pedestrians, runners and casual cyclists.
The city now offers a free golf cart shuttle that will take guests to various spots downtown.
Public parking is available at no cost on the streets of downtown Fairhope on a first come first serve basis. There is also a public parking garage off North Church Street between Fairhope Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. Handicapped parking is available at the parking lot behind Julwin’s Restaurant as well as the parking lot on the north side of Fairhoper’s Community Park.
Please note, for special events that take place downtown, street parking is extremely limited or unavailable.
Along the Eastern Shore, designated bus routes have been assigned specifically to accommodate travelers going to Fairhope, Daphne, and Spanish Fort. There are multiple drop off and pickup times when traveling Monday through Friday. This Demand Response Route provides origin to destination transport. Reservations should be made 24 hours to 48 hours in advance. Please visit the BRATS website for current fare rates and the Eastern Shore Express page for specific bus route times to Fairhope.
Exploring the city by bike is a fun way to take in the local attractions. Townie-style cruiser bicycles can be rented from The Fairhope Store at $10 per hour or $30 for the day.
