Location and Parking

The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa is located in Point Clear, Alabama, just south of downtown Fairhope. Non-stop jet service is available from a large selection of major cities in Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida. For more information regarding flights and arrival to Fairhope, visit here.

Directions from I-10

Take exit 35A for US-98.
Turn right onto US-98 E towards Daphne / Fairhope (7.4 miles).
Take slight right onto Veterans Drive (2.1 miles).
Turn right onto Magnolia Avenue (0.5 miles).
Turn right onto US-98 ALT / Scenic Highway 98 (3.1 miles).

*Fairhopers Tip – Make sure to veer slightly left towards Mobile Street or you will end up at the Fairhope Municipal Pier.

Parking

On-site self parking and valet parking are available for resort guests and visitors who are eating at one of the hotel restaurants. There is also a large parking area directly across from The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa when on-property parking is unavailable. Staffed golf carts are available to transport guests and visitors to the Main Historic Building. The entrance guard will be able to assist with any transportation needs from the overflow parking area to the main property.

Accommodations

The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa in Fairhope, Alabama has 405 total guestrooms, throughout the property, including 37 suites. The guestrooms can be found in the Historic Main Building, North Bay House, South Bay House, Spa Building, and Marina Building. All guestrooms feature either one kind-size bed or two queen-size beds with the exception of the Historic Main Building, which also offers a single queen-size guestroom. Many guestrooms feature a balcony and rocking chairs with fantastic views of Mobile Bay or the exquisite gardens throughout the property. Connecting rooms are available. 

All rooms are suited with a plush and luxurious pillow-top mattress and duvet cover, flat screen television, mini-refrigerator, complimentary water, coffee maker, and tea service, iron and ironing board, safe, hair dryer, robe, and toiletries. High speed internet is available in guestrooms and suites. 

If more space is desired, there are a variety of suites located in many of the buildings. The Historic Main Building features king suites equipped with a separate parlor area and sleeper sofa. The Nall Suite is also located in the Historic Main Building. This suite is gracious in size and celebrates the work of one of Fairhope’s most famous artisan. 

Bayside Executive Suites are available in the North Bay House and Marina Building. Furnished with a king-size bed, separate parlor with sleeper sofa, and dining area makes these suites ideal for small families. A spacious outdoor balcony allows for outstanding views of Mobile Bay.

The Governor’s Suite is located in the North Bay House. It features a large king-size bedroom with seating area, open layout parlor with living and dining space, kitchen area with bar stools, and two balconies overlooking Mobile Bay. Connecting rooms are available at an additional fee. 

The Spa building offers king suites, two-queen suites, honeymoon suites, and the Presidential Suite. Calm and tranquil decor with spacious parlor areas including an additional sleeper sofa make these suites ideal for small groups or families. For the ultimate retreat, book one of the two honeymoon suites featuring elegant decor, a large parlor with a sleeper sofa, a generously sized bathroom with a jetted bathtub and double vanity sinks, a separate dining area, and balcony overlooking the marina and beautiful Mobile Bay. 

The Presidential Suite in the Spa Building is the largest suite available at The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa. The suite features a king-size bed with seating area, an expansive open layout living and dining space complete with a baby grand piano and fireplace, large kitchen area with a bar setup, spacious bathroom with a double vanity sink, jetted tub, and powder room, as well as an additional half bath for guests, and finally an extended balcony with spectacular views of Mobile Bay and the marina. Connecting rooms are available at an additional fee.

The Local Market is located off the main lobby in the Historic Main Building. Start your morning with a specialty beverage and fresh made pastry or hot breakfast sandwich while reading the local newspaper. Quick grab items such as cold sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, chips, and snack items are available throughout the day as well as delectable pastries including macarons, cakes, and bonbons.

High Tea, Thursday - Saturday - 12:00pm - 3:00pm

The Grand Hall is the premiere spot for breakfast each morning. Located in the Historic Main Building, the Grand Buffet features a delightful spread of traditional breakfast fare, including local seasonal specialties, a made-to-order omelet station, homemade breads, and freshly squeezed juices. A classic breakfast menu is also available, which includes one of “Alabama’s 100 Dishes to Try Before You Die,” the Grand Hotel Lump Crab Cake Scramble. 

The Grand Hall is also home to the popular Sunday Brunch which delights both guests and locals in the area. The Grand Buffet is enhanced with made-to-order omelets and waffles, seafood specialties, and homemade pastries and desserts. A local jazz Brass Band entertains as guests take in the spectacular views of Mobile Bay. Reservations are required and guests are encouraged to make them well in advance for this prime dining event.

The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa in Fairhope now offers a High Tea on Thursday through Saturday afternoons. Enjoy the sophisticated ambiance of the Grand Hall while partaking in an assortment of savory tea sandwiches, traditional scones with clotted cream and jam, and delectable sweet selections including petit fours and macarons. Choose from a variety of specialty teas and champagne cocktails, if you please. A charming children’s menu is also available.

The Bayside Grill features a varied menu with locally sourced ingredients including burgers, pizzas, salads, small plates, and specialty entrees. Located in the Historic Main Building, the Bayside Grill is the perfect spot for a casual bite to eat in a comfortable setting. Relax inside with stunning views of Mobile Bay or dine on the outside patio where children can play yard games while waiting for their meal. Enjoy live entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. 

Southern Roots

Featuring exquisite farm-to-table entrees with spectacular views of Mobile Bay, Southern Roots is the premiere dining spot at the Grand Hotel. Jubilee Poolside Grill

Bucky’s Lounge, previously known by locals as “Bucky’s Birdcage,” is a popular piano bar and lounge serves specialty cocktails, rare whiskeys, fine wines, and delicious southern small plates. Located in the Historic Main Building, gather indoors on one of the many plush sofas with outstanding views of Mobile Bay or head outside to relax by one of the many fire pits or outdoor tables. This fun gathering spot is a favorite spot to catch a game or visit with friends and family.







Activities

There is so much to do at The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa in Fairhope you might not want to leave. Enjoy a relaxing stroll or bike ride along the scenic bay-lined paths. Test your skills at one of the many yard games located outside the Bayside Grill including horseshoes, ping pong, corn hole, croquet, bocce ball, and a putting green. Grab a fishing pole and cast off the Grand Pier where a covered deck will keep you shaded as you wait for your big catch. For the ultimate lazy day, find an empty hammock for relaxing under the shade of an ancient oak tree.

Kids will enjoy the daily arts and crafts activities as well as the arcade game room that can be found in the North Bay House. Head over to the front desk to get a cup of food to feed the resident ducks or borrow a board game for use within the lobby.  

The outdoor feature pool is the perfect spot to soak up the warm southern sun. The zero-entry pool features a water slide, splash fountains, and separate adults-only section for hotel guests looking for some rest and relaxation. An attached splash pad area is ideal for families with small children looking to cool off. Chaise lounges, umbrellas, and towels are available for guests. 

Spend your time soaking up the sun on the sandy beach, try a round of volleyball or tetherball, or cruise around the bay on a kayak, sailboat, jet ski, hydrobike, or paddleboard. Beachside cabanas are also available for rent.  

Each afternoon guests and visitors can view the daily cannon firing that takes place to celebrate the history of the Grand Hotel and salute our military men and women, veterans, and their families. After the presentation, make your way to the Grand Hall for tea and cookies. We especially enjoy the “friendly ghost” practicing on the player piano.

Events

Cook up some fun on your next stay at one of the culinary or beverage classes offered at the Grand Hotel. The Culinary Academy takes place on Saturdays at 10:00am and offers a themed cooking demonstration by one of the highly-trained resort chefs. The classes at the Beverage Academy are on Fridays at 5:30pm and include a one-hour demonstration and beverage sampling. Classes are limited in size and do book up so early registration is encouraged to guarantee a spot. Participants of the Beverage Academy must be at least 21 years old to attend. The Oak and Azalea is a boutique gift shop located off the Grand Hall in the Historic Main Building. A curated selection of clothing, cookbooks, accessories, and children’s items are the ideal choice for a souvenir that will get used over and over again. To explore the plethora of shopping options in the area, a complimentary shuttle will take guests from The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa to downtown Fairhope and back to the resort.
