When visiting for the first time, the Welcome Center in Fairhope, Alabama is a good place to start.  Open daily to the public, it is located in the heart of downtown Fairhope.  If you need information about public events and attractions or directions to local sites, stop by the local visitors center and one of the attendants will be happy to assist you.  Public restrooms are also available.

Parking is available on Section Street directly in front of the Welcome Center on a first come, first serve basis. Check out the parking and transportation page for additional options including the location for the parking deck and public parking lots. 

Don’t forget to check out the Fairhope Museum of History located next door. Once used as the city hall and jail, this notable museum is rich in history and free to the public. Take a self-guided tour or go on a walk-through with one of the knowledgeable attendants for a more in-depth look at these unique exhibits. The museum is available for viewing Tuesday through Saturday.

Off the Beaten Path

While Fairhope is certainly known for it’s beautiful downtown area, there are many great finds outside of the main hub. Travel south on Scenic Highway 98 to Point Clear, Alabama to the historic Grand Hotel Resort and Spa for a relaxing getaway. For the avid golfer, book a tee time at The Lakewood Club offering two challenging Robert Trent Jones Trail courses with rolling greens and moss-draped oak trees. Nature lovers will appreciate the trails and free educational interpretive center at the Weeks Bay Reserve. Built in 1882, the Swift Coles Historic Home in Bon Secour, Alabama is open for tours on Tuesdays and Fridays.
