The iconic Page and Palette bookstore in Fairhope, Alabama is a landmark unto itself. Visitors and locals alike have frequented this independent bookstore since it’s opening in 1968. Located in the heart of downtown, it is a great starting point for your visit to Fairhope. Besides its large and varied selection of books and audio books, this beloved bookstore carries greeting cards, stationary, and other small gift items.
A room dedicated to the youngest of readers has books, games, toys, and trinkets for all ages from babies to teenagers. Carrying an expansive collection of children’s classics, the newest best sellers, and favorite character books, you can find the perfect story to keep your kids entertained. Page and Palette is located at 32 South Section Street in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. It is prominently featured at the corner of Section Street and De La Mare Avenue. The store can be entered through it’s side entrances on Section Street taking you into either the children’s and young adult section or through the main bookstore. There are also entrances through the Latte De coffee shop, which is the easiest to spot or a side entrance on De La Mare which passes through The Book Cellar bar.
Street parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking on Section Street, De La Mare Avenue, Fairhope Avenue, South Bancroft Street, or South Church Street would be the shortest walk to Page and Palette. There is also a public parking lot just north of the Fairhoper’s Community Park on South Church Street, a small parking lot behind Julwin’s Restaurant on Bancroft Street and another parking area just north of the Fairhope Public Library on Bancroft Street.
