The House, formerly Vellum and Velvet is a full service interior design and home décor store in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. Whether you are trying to spruce up your current space, in the middle of a home remodel, or starting with a new house plan, the associates at The House can assist at any stage of the design process.
From floor to ceiling, this specialty shop is ready to create your ultimate custom space. A vast selection of samples, including textured flooring and fabric, are on hand to visually see how each item will work together.
Along with design help, the downtown store is filled with beautiful ready-to-purchase items including both new and antique furniture. Guests will also find upholstery, drapes, linens, lamps and lighting, art, and unique tabletop accessories. All pillow covers on the showroom floor are custom creations made in-house.
The House is located at 404 Fairhope Avenue in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. Street parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking on Fairhope Avenue, Section Street, De La Mare Avenue, Bancroft Street or Church Street would be the shortest walk to The House.
A public parking garage is conveniently located on North Church Street behind the Hampton Inn. There is also a public parking lot just north of the Fairhoper’s Community Park on South Church Street, a small parking lot behind Julwin’s Restaurant on Bancroft Street, and another parking area just north of the Fairhope Public Library on Bancroft Street.
