The Kiln Studio and Gallery in Fairhope offers in-house pottery classes and workshops, as well as showcases a diverse collection of clay art and gifts. Studio hours are Thursday through Saturday from 12:00pm – 5:00pm.
Workshops are offered throughout the year by local ceramic artists. Upcoming workshops can be found on their website.
Beginner pottery classes are available in 6 week sessions. The class meets once a week for 3 hour segments with additional practice available each Saturday. Participants can choose from hand-building or wheel throwing. Beginner classes include the use of tools and equipment, 25 lbs. of clay, glazes, bisque firings, and glaze firings.
Intermediate and advanced classes meet one evening a week with practice hours on Saturday. Students pay a monthly fee which includes the use of tools and equipment, glazes, bisque firing, and glaze firing. Participants are required to purchase their own clay.
Private Lessons are also available for up to two people at a time. Students can choose between hand-building or wheel throwing and includes all needed supplies and equipment. Private parties are also available for ages 8 years old and up. The host can select in advance from specific hand-building projects for the group to complete.
The Kiln Studio and Gallery is located at 265 Young Street in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. On-site parking is available.
