Tamara’s Downtown is a casual fine dining restaurant in the heart of downtown Fairhope, Alabama. It’s beautiful Tucson inspired building has been a local favorite for lunch, dinner, and Sunday Brunch since 2008. Drop by from 3:00pm – 6:00pm for happy hour, which takes place every day of the week. With a charming side courtyard, it is also a regular gathering locale for small parties, luncheons, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners. 

Featuring an expansive menu consisting of perfectly grilled lamb and steaks, fresh seafood, and appetizing signature dishes, there truly is something for everyone at Tamara’s in Fairhope. Go lighter at lunch with a cup of gumbo and a salad or try one of the many varieties of sandwiches, wraps, or handcrafted burgers. The Downtown Club is the ideal pick when looking for a more traditional selection or branch out with the creatively constructed Soft Shell Crab BLT or Salmon Reuben. 

The dinner menu at Tamara’s Downtown is divided into four categories – specialty entrees, seafood, steaks, and pasta. For simple southern favorites, you can’t go wrong with Fried Shrimp and Hushpuppies, Mississippi Catfish, or Shrimp and Conecuh Grits. When looking for something richer, try the Lobster Mac and Cheese baked with a creamy four cheese sauce, the 6 oz Filet cooked with a white wine mushroom demi glaze, or the Chicken Tamara wrapped in bacon and stuffed with asparagus and smoked Gouda.

Both lunch and dinner feature the same extensive and delectable appetizer section. These generously portioned appetizers are perfect for sharing or combine two to create your own entree! The panko-crusted Avocado Fries are sure to be a crowd pleaser and who can resist a wheel of Honey Pecan Baked Brie? 

Venture into Tamara’s on a Sunday morning for the popular Fairhope brunch. Guests are greeted by the sounds of delightful jazz music while taking their seats. Reservations are not required, but it is recommended to guarantee your spot at this favored event.

Start your meal with a mimosa, poinsettia, or visit the large Bloody Mar bar fixed with all the toppings. Brunch menu selections include a variety of egg dishes, including 4 different omelet options and 16 different ways to serve up an eggs Benedict. If you would rather try something different,  there are a few unique specialty dishes to choose from such as the Prime Rib with Eggs or the Bananas Foster Waffles. Guests may also order off of the lunch menu as well.  

Fairhoper’s Favorite – We have had many lunches, dinners, and brunches at Tamara’s in Fairhope over the years. With such a large menu, it’s almost impossible to pick just one thing to eat. One of our favorite ways to try lots of items at once is to mix and match from the appetizer menu. The Sushi Grade Ahi Tuna is the same quality and size as the entree, making it a great deal and the Fried Green Tomatoes and Crab topped with hollandaise is something we’ve enjoyed several times over!

Tamara’s Downtown is located at 104 North Section Street in downtown Fairhope, Alabama. Street parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Parking on North Section Street, Pine Street, North Bancroft Street, Equality Street, Magnolia Avenue, or North Church Street are the most convenient spots if walking to Tamara’s Downtown.

For additional parking, a public parking garage is located on North Church Street behind the Hampton Inn. There are also two public parking lots available on North Bancroft Street. The first parking lot is just north of the Fairhope Public Library. The other parking lot is adjacent to the Fairhope Museum of History behind Julwin’s restaurant. These are free to the public and available on a first come first serve basis.
