Description

A beloved sandwich shop in the heart of downtown, MaryAnn’s Deli has been serving the Fairhope community since 1984. Open Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 3:00pm, MaryAnn’s is a longtime favorite for casual lunches or catering for groups.

MaryAnn’s Deli has an extensive menu consisting of sandwiches, salads, quiche, and soup. Guests may select a sandwich from the menu or choose to build their own. Sandwich prices include chips and a pickle spear, but soup, pasta salad, slaw, fruit, potato salad, or a garden salad can be substituted.

On the Menu - Sandwiches

Those looking for something more traditional will enjoy the Club Croissant stacked high with ham, smoked turkey, and bacon on a croissant; the BLT on toasted whole wheat; the French Dip filled with roast beef, onion, and melted Swiss cheese; or the Italian Hero complete with ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese served on French Bread.

For a true taste of the South, consider the New Orleans Muffaletta complete with ham, salami, provolone cheese, and mixed olive salad; the Chicken Salad that can be served on a croissant, stuffed in a tomato, or turned into the Fairhope with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo; or the Pimiento Cheese that is served cold on whole wheat or a croissant or hot and grilled with bacon.

For fans of the Reuban, there are several variations to choose from. The original Reuben includes corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and homemade thousand island dressing on grilled rye bread – although bread substitutions can be made if you are not a fan of rye bread. The Rachel also includes corned beef and Swiss cheese but substitutes the sauerkraut for the house slaw and the thousand island with a delicious homemade honey mustard. And if you really want to change things up, try the Maiben which is basically the Rachel with smoked turkey instead of corned beef.

The Local Favorites menu includes many tasty options including the Turkey Cranberry with smoked turkey, cranberry sauce, and honey mustard, perfect for any time of the year; the Michael T with grilled chicken breast, provolone cheese, and a spinach and artichoke spread; or the Jonathan with smoked turkey, provolone cheese, homemade coleslaw, and BBQ sauce, just to name a few.

Meatless sandwich options include the Big Kid Grilled Cheese complete with Swiss, cheddar, and provolone cheese, onions, tomatoes, and a pesto vinaigrette or the Vegetarian with cheddar and provolone cheese, artichoke hearts, lettuce, tomato, onions, fresh seasonal vegetables, and pesto vinaigrette on French bread.

On the Menu - Salads

There are several salad options to choose from at MaryAnn’s Deli in Fairhope, from southern mayo-based staples like chicken salad, tuna salad, or egg salad to flavorful choices on a bed of greens. To try a variety of options in one visit, consider the Cosmopolitan Trio Salad where guests can build a combination platter with the many homemade salad options.

If you are looking for a greener salad, there are several selections to choose from such as the Caesar Salad or the Chef Salad which consists of mixed greens and topped with ham, smoked turkey, and cheese. Another popular choice is the Grilled Chicken Pecan Salad which includes a mixed green salad with grilled chicken, seasoned pecans, and the delectable citrus cilantro dressing (find the dressing recipe here!) or the Courtayard Salad with mixed greens, sliced almonds, mandarin oranges, purple onions, and homemade French dressing.

For a protein boost, a grilled chicken breast or blackened Sutchi filet can also be added to any base salad.

Fairhoper’s Favorite – We have enjoyed MaryAnn’s Deli in Fairhope for many years. Although we have never been disappointed when trying something new, the Maiben, Turkey Cranberry, and Jonathan are always on rotation. While the chips bring a nice crunchy texture to the meal, our favorite side is the fresh fruit topped with poppy seed dressing. And if you still have room after lunch, don’t forget to grab a Mississippi mud bite, which is the perfect sized sweet treat to complete your meal.
